First, it’s important to note that Return Path Platform and Inbox Monitor share common back-end processes, so the underlying data sources are the same in both places. This is why your overall inbox placement rate, or IPR, is identical in both Return Path Platform and Inbox Monitor. What’s different is the breakdown that gets surfaced in each view.
There are two types of data that power Return Path’s deliverability metrics: CoreSeeds and SmartSeeds. Both sources contribute to your campaigns’ placement metrics available in our deliverability solutions. However, only Return Path Platform shows you both CoreSeeds and SmartSeeds placement metrics. Inbox Monitor shows you the breakdown for CoreSeeds, but not SmartSeeds.
Why? Inbox Monitor is our legacy inbox placement solution, and all new developments are created specifically for Return Path Platform. This includes SmartSeeds, which were developed in 2019.
While Inbox Monitor uses SmartSeeds data to determine your IPR, just as Return Path Platform does, there are no plans to show SmartSeeds personas in Inbox Monitor. For the fullest explanation of your data, please use Return Path Platform.
