How prevalent is engagement filtering?

Engagement filtering is not typically used by mailbox providers other than the global four, which includes:
  • AOL
  • Gmail
  • Outlook.com
  • Yahoo!

That leaves more than 140 mailbox providers where seeds are the only remaining solution.

Even at AOL, Outlook.com, Gmail, and Yahoo!, seeds can still provide accurate folder placement information for universal placement decisions being made and the granularity provided by subscriber data can fill in the gaps.
