This test checks for broken or slow links within the content of your email. Both broken and slow links are a key driver of subscriber spam complaints due to a poor user experience. Broken links may also be interpreted as spam-like behavior by some mailbox providers.
This test is only performed on a campaign sent to Inbox Monitor when activated by an Account Manager. Contact your Account Manager to request activation.
How it works
When a campaign is sent to Inbox Monitor, Inbox Optimizer checks the message body for links using the first reference seed received. Inbox Optimizer clicks the links within the message to ensure they are working properly.
- Pass: No broken links are found and links take less than 5 seconds to respond.
- Warn: Links take longer than 5, but less than 10, seconds to respond.
- Fail: Links that give HTTP responses other than a 200 ("ok"), or if links take longer than 10 seconds to respond.
If a link breaks due to a non-functioning redirect, Inbox Optimizer displays the link that appeared in the body of your email.
