Inbox Insight data is not proprietary and is not owned by the sender. Instead, the data was collected using the historical Return Path Consumer Network. The Consumer Network data source was removed on January 31, 2020, but historical data remains available in Inbox Insight.
Each subscriber in the Consumer Network explicitly granted the right to Return Path to use their behavioral data. No new data is being collected.
Very much like Nielsen or Harris conduct surveys and polls from anonymous individuals, the companies and television shows that people are asked about do not own the views of the individual. The same is true for Return Path’s Consumer Network. Return Path owns the metadata generated by analyzing the behavior of the individual and rolled it up to create an aggregated view.
Return Path does not share your proprietary data with a competitor.
