A child account is a subsidiary or brand that is owned or controlled by a parent account. A child account is typically referred to as a Customer in the Return Path tools. Child account data and metrics can be combined and viewed within the parent account.
For example, XYZ Inc. has numerous subsidiaries, including:
- Company ABC
- Company DEF
- Company GHI
In the Return Path tools, XYZ Inc is set up as the parent account and Company ABC, Company DEF, and Company GHI are set up as child accounts to show that they are subsidiaries to XYZ Inc.
