You can customize your Email Client Monitor pixel by using tagging. There are two different types of tags you can use: special tags and custom tags.
You can view all Email Client Monitor results for a single campaign or by individual subscriber by adding a campaign tag and a subscriber tag to the pixel.
Special tags allow you to specify the campaigns and subscribers you send by Campaign ID and Subscriber ID.
- Campaign ID (&c=) tag: The c tag allows you to specify the Campaign ID. This value is tracked on the Time Series Report, Engagement, and Location pages in Email Client Monitor to show you data for a particular campaign. You can use your Matching ID for this field.
- Subscriber ID (&s=) tag: The s tag allows you to specify a Subscriber's ID to see how individual subscribers engage with your campaign.
In Email Client Monitor, a custom tag is a field that you can create and embed into your pixel to collect or segment data reported in the Email Client Monitor user interface. Custom tags can help you use the subscriber information you already have to understand the differences in behavior between segments of your customers.
For example, if you want to see how the viewing habits of men differ from women, you can create a custom tag for gender and add it as one of the parameters included in the pixel.
Custom tags might also be developed to segment information by:
- Age and demographic information
- Point of acquisition
- Geographic region
- A/B split tests
